Struggle and Peace

Last night was pretty rough for Regan and for Chantell, so I'll do the update this morning...

When I arrived at the hospital this morning with the kids, Chantell explained that Regan can't talk with her words, but she has other ways to tell us how she feels. Her body communicates what her voice cannot. And she's telling us that she's very tired.

Last year we told her that we would run with her as long and fast as she wanted to run. Right now she seems to be saying that she's tired of running.

Last year she seemed to be fighting. Right now she seems to be at peace.

We never know what Regan is going to do. She's the Queen of Surprises and Rallies. Usually, she's just a mystery girl. But too often we don't listen very well to what she tells us. Our activity, emotion and selfish ambition get in the way. But if we're hearing her clearly today it seems like she's ready for Rest. I wonder if we are ready to let her rest. It's ironic that rest could be so near our tired family and be so unwelcome. But we'll try....another irony....we'll try to let her rest. And we'll struggle to be at peace.

We'll also try to keep you posted. We're a little sensitive to pulling you along a roller coaster ride. But, we're grateful for your care, support and prayer.

got the email that Regan wasn't doing well so thought i'd check here. funny thing though, God has had me camped on I Thess. 1:3 for about 10 days now. we just found out the abby has scoliosis and i've been doing pt on her 5x per day per doctors instruction. i think of you often as i work on her back. what work, labor and endurance you have given to Regan!!! and i can testify that it has produced faith, love and hope in all 5 of you!!! i shed tears and prayers of faith, love and hope for you too at this time. no need to worry about roller coasters--we have a God big enough for any G forces that come our way! much love to you all! keep us posted!

The Goldens are praying for U guys. Eyon was praying last night before bed and the only thing he asked God for was Regan to feel better... God has his ways and I pray that He'll give you a glimpse into Heaven no matter what it looks like.
I've stood on Heaven's steps and so has Eli, so I speak from personal experience, God will do what He wants and we get to go along for the ride most times. It's fun and scary but in His arms everything else is taken care of.
See 1 Peter 1:23-25 and rest.

I have been dwelling on Matt. 10 and Phil. 4 today--interesting combination. Jesus giving his disciples the power and authority to heal sickness and drive out demons, and Paul reminding us to not be anxious about anything.... prayer and petition..... give requests to God.... and the PEACE that doesn't make sense will guard hearts and minds....

That is my prayer for your family today. We love you.

Listen to your heart, let your feelings flow.Comfort her, that's what she needs. As you know we are not in charge, but we can let our emotions guide us to help our loved ones.Be calm,be still and know that he is God. He is good and his love endures forever.

Hold her tight.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

Praying for all of you.
